Contemporary dance vacation in the Mediterranean

1-WEEK INTENSIVE DANCE WORKSHOP with Irene van Zeeland on the beautiful island of Gozo
13th October to 20th October 2018

With sand under your feet and the sound of waves in the background?
As an experienced dancer or a complete newcomer. This trip is made for everyone who wants to focus on dancing for a week and at the same time have a relaxing time in the sun exploring the island of Gozo.

Concept
The morning technical contemporary classes will be held ouside at the pool area or in a studio. Depending on your interests we will include some dance theory as well.
The improvisation classes will take place in a different outdoor location every day. Our overall theme shall be the four elements. That means we will choose our dancing locations accordingly and explore what it means to dance with water, fire, earth and air. On our last day we will combine the movements of the whole week and revisit all the outdoor locations to create a short film. The film will be a great souvenir of the trip for you.
In the evenings there is time to relax and unwind. We will do picnics at the beach and watch dance films. While dancing is in the focus you will also have plenty of time to swim in the sea, sunbathe and explore what the island has to offer.

Schedule
The exact times may vary according to your preferences and weather conditions.
Day 1: Arrival day
Exploration of the area, getting to know each other + dinner

Day 2+3+5: Dance classes
Light breakfast
10:00-12:00 Contemporary dance class
Healthy lunch snack
14:00-17:00 Improvisation class (in nature) Dinner at improv. location/ at the house

Day 4: Off-day
After breakfast you are free to enjoy the beach, explore the island and do whatever you feel like, dinner and watching of a dance film + discussion

Day 7: Film day
Contemporary dance class + revisiting all outdoor locations and combining the improvisations of the week, sunset dinner picnic

Day 8: Departure day
Breakfast and transportation back to the airport

What’s included + price?
From the moment you arrive at the airport you don’t have to worry about anything for the whole week. The price of the vacation is 850€ (double bedroom, shared).and 1150€ for a single bedroom. The following is included in the price:
• Pick-up from the airport + ferry to Gozo and transfer to the house
• Accommodation in a single/ double bedroom in a traditional Maltese farmhouse with pool
• Daily breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared with healthy, local ingredients and non-alcoholic drinks (water, coffee, tea)
• 5 days of dance classes making a total of 20h dance classes over 4 days + 1 day improvisation at different locations and creation of a short film
• Car rides to the dancing locations all over the island
The flight is not included. However, we can assist you in finding a flight if you have trouble finding a good one. We need a minimum of 6 participants to confirm that the trip is taking place. The maximum number of participants is 12.

Where is Gozo?
Gozo is part of the smallest EU country Malta and is located in the Mediterranean sea. The island Gozo can boast with 330 days of sunshine a year and plenty of beaches and cliffs. In October temperatures are between 20-25°C and swimming on sunny days is still possible.

This trip is organised by Nina Janoschka who is running Gozo Home together with her parents. We have renovated an old farmhouse in Gozo and are welcoming guests in our Bed & Breakfast ever since. We are also organising all-inclusive trips under certain themes like Pilates, Yoga, Cooking & Hiking trips. During your dance vacation in Gozo we will make sure that you will have an unforgettable time.

Irene van Zeeland is a Dutch dancer with international experience. She has been working in India and doing workshops in Paris and we are looking forward to setting up this trip with her from the 13th-20th October 2018.
If you wish to spent some more days in Gozo to explore the island you are welcome to stay longer.
